I knew Erik from our days at Linfield. I can't say I was a close friend but we knew each other through class. We had many good laughs together and I remember that he was always smiling. Erik was focused and confident, yet modest. What made him special was his kindness to everyone. What lives on is the positive impact he had on so many people. Much respect to his family.

Eric and I were "Battle Buddies" in OCS, his tactical and technical expertise was only over shadowed by his generosity and positive spirit. We talked about going 4x4ing back in the mountains near LaGrande with our girls upon our return from our deployments. He was so dang proud of his old Ford truck.
I have never met someone that I have held in higher regard. He was an angel among men and a positive influence on all that that he came in contact with. He will always be missed, I am grateful for having known him, and think of him often.
As Erik would say… Scouts Out!

To the family of Erin Mclyman, i am deeply sorry for your lost. i went to Tech school with her and we were best of friends. we used to help each other study during class. Then we ended up graduating and being stationed at our first base McChord. She was one of my best friends and i will miss her so much. I remember one time i rented a car and we went looking for apartments because i had recently got married. well during that time we knew nothing about Washington State and got lost. Well 3 hours later we found our way back to the base. Im going to miss her so much. Rest in Peace McClyman!!!!!!
