  Tobler, Brandon S.

Spc Justin Bowman wrote: I was in Tobler's unit and with him on the convoy when he died. He was the nicest kid in the whole unit. He had a great smile and it seemed like he could keep it going all day long, no matter how much stress he faced. We have recently lost 2 more men in the unit I am currently serving with in Iraq. Pray for us. It helps. You aren't forgotten brothers, and if it is up to me, you never will be.

  Tucker, Thomas L.

Chuck Pore wrote: I did not know you. I happened to drive through Madras on the day of your Memorial service and stayed to pay my respects. I saw a town that loved you very much. In your tribute it was said you joined the Army because you wanted to matter. You did matter. Even to an outsider passing through, it showed you mattered to a whole town that showed up to hug you goodbye. And you matter still, because in our hearts, Heroes Live Forever. You will always matter to all of us.

Virginia Flynn wrote: I did not personally know you. I was driving through Madras on the day of your memorial service. I felt the immensity of grief when I passed through your town. Someday I would like to visit the place where you have been laid to rest. I did not know you. But I will not forget you. And I hold you and your family in my heart.

Rob Bovett wrote: Nathan was an amazing young man, full of humor and kindness, and a dedication to our country and to all who were in need of help. He was a friend to many, my son’s best friend, and my youngest son’s mentor. We miss you Nathan, and we will cherish your memory forever. Here is a poem written by Nate on December 25, 2006: The BrotherHood Its not just friends, or just for the guys its everyone that’s helped u succeed in life. its for that guy, that brother who was right there, right next to you when u fell and he helped you up, he's or she’s the one you fight for and strive to protect that one you will never let harm come to. they are family, these are my words and they are truth, the brotherhood stands in all of us you just need to realize who’s in yours who's that man or woman to your left or right who will you wake up in the morning to protect, now not everyone’s brotherhood is big, some can be small. just to all that read this and know what i’m talking about this is a toast to you, and the fallen who fought for us and still fight to day. this is to my family that stretches from twentynine palms cali to the oceans and shores of Newport and the forests of Oregon to the sands middle east and the southern hills of Alabama you are all my family and never forget that . . . Katie wrote: Nathan was one of my good friends. He was someone we all could count one. One thing I want to stress is, is that he died March 10, 2007 not March 13, 2007. That was the date I flew out so I could go to his Precessional in the following days.
