Harley D. Andrews

Spec. Harley D. Andrews, whose job was to seek out roadside bombs and disarm them, died on patrol when his vehicle drove over a bomb in the street Sept. 11, 2006, in Ar Ramadi, Iraq.

Andrews, 22, was the son of Kim Barlow of Tigard and had a brother, Michael, also living in Portland. Andrews went to high school in Yuba City, Calif. He was assigned to the 54th Engineering Brigade, 130th Engineer Brigade, Warner Barracks, Bamberg, Germany.

Andrews is survived by wife, Halley, of Bamberg, Germany, and a 1-year-old son, Ayden.
